Who are we?

RRED stands for Responsible Retailing of Energy Drinks. It is a grassroots campaign aimed at every retailer in the UK who sells energy drinks. Energy drinks are not recommended for children and we want retailers to stop selling them to children.

Meet The Team

Norma Austin Hart

RRED was set up in November 2013 by Norma Austin Hart who is a councillor in Edinburgh. She has been a councillor since 2007 and is very involved in the local community. Norma is married to Cliff and has a daughter and a granddaughter. She has a particular interest in children’s health and wellbeing.

Mark Baldwin

Mark Baldwin is a social media expert with a special interest in working with campaigning organisations. He runs his company Talkativeonline with his wife Amanda in Hastings. They have worked with many grassroots organisations to help them develop their message and find the right channels.

Julie Giles

Julie is currently a stay at home Mum to a very busy little boy, 3 year old Dexter. She is married to Stephen and lives in Edinburgh. She is very interested in nutrition in children and ensures Dexter has a diet with very limited sugar in it. Julie’s background is in HR, Training, Project and Office Management, and most recently was a Studio Manager in a Design and Marketing company.

Lorna McCallum

Lorna McCallum has her own communications consultancy Elephant Intelligent Communications and is an experienced business analyst. Her expertise is in identifying an organisation’s communication needs and helping them create a strategy to meet those needs. Lorna also has a track record with voluntary organisations and understands the special circumstances of the Third Sector.

Professor Naveed Sattar

Professor Naveed Sattar

Naveed is Professor of Metabolic Medicine at the University of Glasgow (active in clinical practice) and is interested in better understanding the causes (environmental and biological) and links between diabetes, obesity and heart disease. He has published over 500 papers and around 20 book chapters in these areas. He has received several national and international prizes for his research. He has been a professor since 2005 and loves sports, especially football and cycling.
